Ugh, Peaches!

I was feeling good this morning, made my way to school, signed in, lunch in the fridge, then off to the cafateria to see Mrs. Sephton's (Whitney) precious class during breakfast! I was especially excited because we had Kindergarten graduation! Three of our students were graduating and I couldn't wait to see how cute they were in their "Sunday best!" One of the students, bless his heart, came running up to me with open arms, as he does every morning, and gives me my morning hug! Little did I see that his hands were DRENCHED in peach juice! Just as those sweet dimples hugged me I smelt the peaches, but it was too late... it was already all over me! The smell was too much and I had to rush off to the bathroom! I don't think I'll ever eat a peach again... and I like peaches! After Mary Kathryn took care of my peach clothes and found some crackers for me... off to graduation we went! As if my hormones don't already have me on a roller coaster... seeing the adorable students in their cap and gown was almost more than I could take! They were so big! Just the reality of how quickly time goes by! I cried through most of the slide show! Cried in my room after... I just cried most of the day! And when I wasn't crying, I was holding my breath! Wow, the smells are what really get to me! And in a K-6 grade school, well you just get the point. I laugh when I think about what is going on with my body! Makes you feel like a crazy loon! I'm soooo blessed to have a wonderful husband who is turning out to be a really good cook. He is getting lots of practice this week as he comes home at 7:00 to find me dead asleep! So he cooks dinner and lets me keep resting! Bless his heart, he is working so hard! I am also blessed to have a great family (especially mom, who has to check on me twice day by phone call these days... and additional texts) and an amazing group of friends who help me laugh it off! I love you all!

A world of changes!

I didn't expect to feel the changes caused by the pregnancy so early! I think the biggest difference is the exhaustion! At the end of the day I feel as if I have run a marathon! Lunch time is the worst... I sometimes want to crawl under my desk and get a quick nap in! I'm so excited to only have 3 and 1/2 days left until summer vacation! Yay! I have been a little quezzy at times, but I've learned I can control that by not letting myself get too hungry! And if I don't catch it in time... 5 crackers and a sprite are my quick fixes! I'm learning to be a big girl and drink my milk, eat all of my food group servings, and go to bed early! Not that I want to rush a single day of this miracle God has given us... but I am ready for the energy spurt I hear about during the 2nd trimester! Landon comes for a weekend visit this weekend and we are soooo excited to tell him the new news! His Grammy and Papaw have gotten him a "Big Brother" shirt and I just know he will be thrilled! We've been talking about a new baby... he goes back and forth on whether he wants a baby sister or baby brother! We will see what he says this weekened!We go back to the ob June 2 for our next sonogram! Dr. says we should hear a heart beat! We are so excited! Keep us in your prayers :)

Our First Doctor Visit :)

Today Chris and I went to our first OB visit! I was so nervous all day... mostly of the "blood taking" part, which turned out to not be bad at all! We weren't sure if we were going to be able to have a sonogram because I'm so early in the pregnancy, but to our surprise.... WE GOT TO SEE OUR LITTLE POPPY FOR THE FIRST TIME!!! It was the most special and sureal moment of my life! There on the screen, about the size of a poppy seed, was our little miracle! God is so good!!! She measured our little one and told us that I am about 4 week 3 days along, which puts the due date tentatively around January 22nd! My birthday is January 14, my granddaddy's was January 15th, my cousin Anna's is January 19th, and my stepson's Landon is January 23rd! So we will get a pole on who will get a sweet birthday present from Chris and I :)
